“Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.” ~ Albert Einstein.
Imagine you’re headed out for an adventure to a new country. You’d need to buy your plane ticket, pack, exchange money, and get your passport and travel documents in order.
Now imagine the difference between the shoes you’d bring if your travels led you to Alaska in December or Bali in August. Or what types of pants you’d pack if you were hiking up the Himalayas or spending a week in London with the Royal Family. What kinds of accessories would be a must if you were doing a solitary retreat versus a weekend getaway with a loved one? Vision informs choice. It’s the foundation on which everything else is built.
And it’s a discovery process ~ it’s not really an invention. You know what would bring you the most. Vision directs choice. By knowing where you’re headed, you can minimize drifting. This keeps you aligned. With what? Your goals. A goal without a vision is just a never-ending to-do list.
Vision inspires, motivates and energizes a collective to achieve greatness. It’s more than a dream. It’s a commitment to a future way of being.
So how do you create one? Well first, consider this:
What do you value?
Why do you exist?
How do you want to share your existence?
How you articulate your vision for success will define your practice and inspire others to join your cause.
