As we head in to the summer months, our appetite’s start to lighten and it is beneficial to transition to more cooling foods. A few of these cooling foods include avocados, mangoes, coconut, fennel, cucumbers, almonds and melons.
Below is a recipe for you to stay cool as a cucumber as you enjoy the playfulness of summer!
Cool as a Cucumber Summer Smoothie
Ingredients:
2 cups of honeydew
1 cup of chopped English cucumber
2 tablespoon of lime juice
1 teaspoon honey or stevia to taste
Get creative by adding one of these to the mix:
Handful of mint leaves.
Handful of blueberries.
Small piece of ginger root.
Small piece of turmeric root.
Directions:
Puree in a blender until you reach desired consistency. Pour into a glass and garnish with your lips. Enjoy!
